My "poem" today refers to the "bomb cyclone" that hit the BC coast and Vancouver Island on Tuesday night.
Several thousand British Columbians remain in the dark Wednesday morning after a windstorm known as a bomb cyclone slammed coastal communities.
About 95,000 BC Hydro customers were without electricity as of 6:30 a.m., according to the utility, down from around 270,000 at the peak of the weather event.
The vast majority of remaining outages, about 90,000, are on Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands, while electricity is out for around 5,000 customers in the Lower Mainland and Sunshine Coast.
Oddly, in some places like here in Chilliwack, the storm did not really materialize.
It is scary when we see how different the weather is today then it was years ago. Unpredictable all over the world, Snow in Florida, Texas and South Carolina. Here in Toronto we have a steady snow fall and unusual cold Regis. Only prayer gets me through the day. I believe the term bomb cyclone is not new, just being used more because competing those reports try to get more customers with sensational terms.
It looks like your BC power grid people are moving quickly to get everybody restored. I know it's hard for people who llive in colder places where electricity may be their own way of keeping warm. I know it was hell for us for three days when all of Texas was without power from a polar vortex and I finally got to read some of the books I have, but only during daylight hours.

It looks like your BC power grid people are moving quickly to get everybody restored. I know it's hard for people who llive in colder places where electricity may be their own way of keeping warm. I know it was hell for us for three days when all of Texas was without power from a polar vortex and I finally got to read some of the books I have, but only during daylight hours.
