What beautiful yet deadly creature lurks at the dance hall ?

There lurks a creature known to most at the local cowboy dance hall.
She glides around the dance floor under the mirrored, turning ball.

The creature takes a woman's form. The most beautiful one of all.
Eyes turn as she spins and steps through the crowded dance hall.

In this form she's taken on her body is perfect in the blend.
Her long hair has a silver glow, the sun has tanned her perfect skin.

All men silently want her. The women tightly hold their men,
to protect them from this creature as the web begins to spin.

The beautiful hair and body and the beautiful steel blue eyes
cover the black widow creature that deep within her lies.

The flash of white, as in a smile, excites the rage within,
instinctively the deadly sting. Again ! Again ! Again !

A web of charm, a web of sex, a web of deceit she lays,
The outer shroud so perfectly formed to lure in her next prey.

Lord have mercy on the man who enters the creatures den
and feels the sting so sharp and deep. Again ! Again ! Again !

The colors of blue and silver, the color of the earthly tan,
transform through illusion in the killing of the man.

The dark colors of black and red now fill the victims mind
of what once seemed to be a smile, so beautiful and kind.

The victim never truly dies, only his heart and soul.
She only takes his life of light and let's the dark side go.

She returns to the stand up bar where all the others know.
They peer into his lifeless eyes, his saddened heart and soul.

and so the story will go on, the dance, the web, the hall.
Another victim sees her dance, is he the next to fall ?

To fall prey to the creature and enter into the den ?
and feel the deep and deadly sting. Again ! Again ! Again !

Reviews of "Dance of the Spider Woman"
Reviewed on January 27, 2009

The magical rhythm, contents, lexis and imagery stimulate the imagination, and take the reader on trip to the wonderful world of symbolism and beauty. Art met intuition and imagination, and the wonderful pen of Poet D.B. Coulson became brush to paint this "Dance of the Spider Woman".

In admiration,

Andre Emmanuel Bendavi ben-YEHU
