A reminder of an anniversary today, 30 years ago Elvis passed on to the other world....

Today is exactly 30 years since the death of Elvis.
He was a very big part of my teen years, and I was a huge fan of his. I will remember the day he died for the rest of my life. I remember exactly where I was and what I was doing.
Yesterday was my son, Aaron's 29th birthday, he was due on the day of Elvis's death (1 year later) but he decided to arrive on the 15th of August. I gave him Elvis' middle name as his first name in honor of a legend in the music industry.

Happy Birthday, Aaron, and Here's to you Elvis, where ever your spirit is!

Just watched an Anniversary Special on TV about him. The day he died, I was stuck in rush hour traffic when I heard the news about his death on the radio. I eventually found a tiny little bar, ordered a drink, and played some Elvis tunes on the old Juke Box. He truly was, The King.

I think everyone was affected by this legend of a man and even today thirty years later his affects are still being felt. Good tribute to him Amber.

Nice tribute Amber! My cousin was a big fan of his, mine was and still is Paul Anka, of which my eldest son is named "Paul". Hmmmm, guess we think alike here. I was working the ticketron at the time, one of my very early jobs. I bought six tickets for the Nassau Colloseum, with one for her. We had floor seats thirteen rows back from the stage and it was fabulous. He looked so sexy in that white suit of his. A concert I will never forget.....
