Well, I'm writing again and I'm writing a little something every day. It's not as difficult as I thought it would be. When the parameters are to write "whatever pops into your head" the words flow. It's very liberating. I've never kept a diary or journal but a lot of writers do and now I see why. This old soldier has learned a new trick. I write about the Steelers, the weather, Pittsburgh, Iraq, sex, Vietnam, the hospital, being one of the working poor and of course writing. It's all good stuff. I can feel a new piece of flash fiction forming in the hazy distance.
