I hope this was the first article you clicked when you got to this page. I would’ve done the same. We are all looking for ways to make life simpler, more enjoyable and stress free. The number one stressor for most is money. Money doesn’t make the world go round, it makes it spin. Most people are afraid to say they love money, that it is the root of all evil. Instead, lack of money is the root of all evil. Think about it; theft, drug trafficking, human trafficking, you name them, most are motivated by the lack of money. Money is a good thing-- it’s what you do with it that makes it either bad or good. For example, my biggest dream is to help stop world hunger. When you don’t have money, you cannot help anyone—to me, that is living a selfish life because your primary focus is on you. There is a saying that goes; ‘Freely ye gives, freely ye receives’. I heard that numerous times from my mother and saw its manifestation through the way she lived her life. Mother was not the richest woman in town, she wasn’t even qualified as middle class, but she always had enough to share and give and somehow, we never lacked. It was a miracle I bore witness to, month after month, year after year.

How do we create wealth—financially? First we must define the word; wealth is an abundance of valuable material possessions or resources; riches. The best definition I ever heard was by Robert Kiyosaki in his book, ‘Cash Flow Quadrant’—it sums it up as the number of days you can go without a pay check and still be able to the life you want. That is the best definition of wealth, and is not to be confused with riches. To be rich means to possess great material wealth. The difference is that a rich man may be living pay check to pay check, but a wealthy man isn’t. Now that we have defined wealth, what are the things we ought to do to start creating wealth? 'Inner wealth always precedes financial wealth'-Bernice Angoh.

1)Change your mind set

This is the most important and most crucial of all the steps. Have you ever wondered why of all those who win the big lotteries, 99% of them go broke in the next five years? Crazy isn’t it? You would ask; what did they do with all that money? But maybe if it happened to you, you’d be one of the statistics too. Hard to believe but it’s true . Most of the lottery winners still had the mind set of a poor person. See, a poor man always thinks of money, lack of money to be exact and as a result they never go forward in life. Everything they talk about, stress about, dream about, curse about, just go to feed their subconscious mind. “I am broke”, “I will never make it”, “Will I ever make it?” “Money is tight”, “Bills, bills, bills!” “When will my big break come?” “I have bad luck”, “I was born to be a watcher” “I have always been the black sheep, so no one expects anything of me”—the list goes on. If that’s the way you see yourself, then what do you expect others to think of you. When you dwell on thoughts like that, it shows in everything you do and when someone makes a comment about your pessimism or cynicism, it only goes to reaffirm what you already think about yourself, so the cycle never stops. The most unbelievable thing is how easy it is to make a change. First you have to want it bad enough, bad enough to control what goes into your mind like; news, useless books, TV, video games and more. Whatever you put into your mind, is what you get out of it, why would you expect anything different? Your mind is like a file cabinet, whatever you store in it, is what you retrieve. If you think “I am an idiot” it is filed in your mind and is readily delivered to you on request. Say you started to do something, got frustrated and started to think why it’s not working out, a signal is sent to your brain’s file cabinet and pops out with the answer: You are an idiot, that’s why. Start thinking like a winner, say the things you want to happen to you, visualize them over and over and by God it works like magic, except there’s no magic involved. It is just a simple fact that what goes in must come out, what comes out is what you personally consciously or subconsciously have put in there...
