Speaking For The Voiceless, Caring For The Helpless.

Yesterday I clipped and groomed my toy poodles, all six of them. It was a good day and I enjoyed seeing how beautiful they looked. They seemed to know they were special as they pranced around with designer haircuts, fluffy coats and little bows over their ears. I’ve been accused of spoiling them and I must plead guilty. I think they are here to be our spoiled companions.

The youngest one, Tre’sor a silver four month old, full of life and pure mischief, jumped into my offered arms, licked my chin and cuddled against me in the lounge chair while we both took a nap. She’s only three pounds of fluff and it felt like holding a tiny baby in my arms.

Life was good and I thought to myself how could anyone ever hurt such a precious little creature, capable of feeling pain, emotions and yes, love.

Today I opened an article with a picture of a toy poodle, horribly abused. Her body was ravaged by mange, her eyes diseased and misshaped, her sparse coat matted and dirty. The sadness of that little face broke my heart and made me ashamed of mankind’s inhumanity to God’s creatures. The thought of those animals who are abused and neglected, used for painful and cruel research purposes, dropped on the side of highways like garbage brought my tears.

I wished I could find that little abused poodle in the article, bathe her and treat her diseases. Hold her close to me and let her feel loved at last.

We have to do something to end this cruelty. Find a group of animal rescuers to join, use our pens and any resources we can to make this a better world for the creatures God put here to share it with us. If you have room in your home and love in your heart, adopt a homeless animal and make the world a little less cold and sad.

The picture of that mutt was very much like the picture in my mirror before shaving a three months poodle bear from my face, what a sorry image we give away...
Then again, man's cruelty to the "lesser" creature doesn't surprise nor will be news to me or anybody else of my generation.
Egoism has taken over, and cheap thrills, road rage and pulling the wings of flies the emotional noveau-vogue.
That people wish to find that little dog to take care and wrap it with love it is so rare on this days that it belong to the category of little miracles.
Maybe that little dog can't say thank you, but we do.

Those of us with kind hearts find this abuse intolerable. We have two cats, and they fill our heart with as much love and joy as any human. Those who abuse, whether it be human, animal or our planet should be heavily find and/or imprisoned. Thank you for this.

God bless you. Kathy

That is such a sad fact of life in this world that their abusers go unpunished too often the same as child abusers.

Mamy men and women are just hateful, harmful, people.
If these people were kicked, starved, and sick, from all the abuse these people would SCREAM, I GOT MY RIGHTS!
Poor animals can't speak up, which is a shame.
Stay safe La Belle
with love

Sadly, happens all too often...when people realize the work, the expense, in return for a loving pet, they just don't give a damn. Heartbreaking pen, La Bele.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

And Jerry's right.

People who abuse helpless animals, to me are no different than those who abuse helpless humans . . . Usually people do DO abuse animals grow up to abuse humans and eventuallu wind up on death row . . .
