"So smile awhile now in the rainbow light"

Poem Artwork

Riding the Rainbow of Reality

Day by day the lessons of life are drawn
Complicated designs in lines of grey
Form patterns for this rainbow we ride on
The rainbow of reality is made
Moment by moment until we are gone
Of colors in every value and shade

Black and white minds shout no and turn away
Insisting on the certainty they paid
For being made for platitudes of power
Swimming upstream like battleships to spawn

Set to devour us this colorful hour
Disdaining those who dare to disagree
With their official myth agreed upon
Draining the color from you and from me

Drunk with power they think themselves so clever
But since their eyes see only black and white
Their vision is so narrow they never
Can understand until it is too late

They are the past now and we are their fate

So smile awhile now in the rainbow light
It is just a matter of time until
We are free and we see the victory
Which was ours all along and is ours still
A living spectrum colorful and bright
Riding the rainbow of reality

Riding the rainbow of reality is a slap in the face that never stops slapping. The hurt people can give to others and think nothig of it, is horrendous in a free society. Day by day, society at large is still trying to make me learn my lesson, whatever that lesson may be. But it is heart wrenching to know that we no longer live in a democracy. As long as we watch our words, and don't put them into action, we are all right. But foul is the cry I hear, if I should ever try to be the person that I have a right to be. Thnx for sharing Steve. May the Lord Jesus bless you, and those whom you love, and be with you always, and at your side constantly. With much love in my heart, stubborn and determined to a fault, joy to the world, peace on earth, & ((((((((((MANY WONDERFUL SISTERLY HUGGGGSSSSS)))))))))), your still very sad and terrified little sister, Barbie

The myriad of colours are a true blessing and I am grateful for the gift of the entire spectrum. I like to dwell, for a moment, in each colour.

Love & Light,
Joseph

It's been a while since I've read your work and I've missed it. It's good to read something that has such a positive message. There is so much sadness and heartache in this world but it is important to keep your 'rainbow' eyes on. Look up and over.
Take care

Hi Stevie. Sometimes I wonder what it must have been like 200 years ago for men and women who lived in the shade of the rainbow. Strangely, 2000 or so years ago, it was no big deal. At least as long as you were of a certain class of citizen. But today...achh, from the birth of Christianity to it's death...the world will lay waste to a myriad of useless barriers.

Peace ~ Sara

Wise advice and perspective, my friend. Love and peace to you.

Yes, I feel sorry for those who only see in black and white and are often too proud to admit that their view just might be wrong, or at the very least, shaded in the shadows of a closed mind...
