The process of life seems a passageway to me
A birth canal between one life and another
From earth to earth through earth as daughter and mother
And as son and father simultaneously
Along this passageway where no one came alone
I came connected to remain connected still
Though the ends of my connections remain unknown
I have to be a link in this chain so I will
Because of the ones who came before me and were
Because of the ones who came after me and are
Because of my mother who shines now like a star
Because of my daughter and everyone like her
Because of my sons and the sons of everyone
Whether some reality or only our dream
The process is doing what will never be done
That which has no ending can only be begun
Things are so much more interesting than they seem
As my father and son simultaneously
The process of life seems a passageway to me
