I suppose I should be disappointed but
Instead I feel something almost like pride
And if people were to ask me proud of what
I would have to invite them to step inside
If they could climb inside of me as I
Step in on a regular basis these days
Here anyway I might as well stop by
To see it all in motion where nothing stays
But the pattern of motion has meaning to
The one who understands where it is moving
Its clarity of motion becoming true
As true as anything at least improving
Now the pattern becomes clear as it comes near
And instead of being disappointed
I feel something almost like proud of the clear
And patterned motion of these once-disjointed
Elements as they combine to be strong
Choristers assembling at evensong

This book represents a thirty-day period of my poetry journal. Each poem addresses
the dominant thoughts occupying my mind during the early morning hours of a given
day.
