Careful for Nothing Philippians 4:6 (KJV) He was a careful man A man with a plan Who never lost face In spite of spectacular rises and falls Never if he could help it anyway Because of his painstaking And his planmaking He threaded with grace The needle's eye right through reality's walls To be able to write to you today And to say We might as well be careful if we can There are accidents enough heaven knows Even for a careful man with a plan Who has to take what comes but likes to see It coming by peeking at destiny At least to see it going as it goes Who might have even learned a thing or two Like being careful and writing to you And who has learned there is no mistaking From which he has not emerged better than He was before if a more careful man Painstaking if no longer planmaking Who learned here it is and to let it be Though he is old and sad now He still would like to live Who lost it all and somehow Has that much more to give Not for things but for people instead Remembering now to forget the past Healing the hole it left in his heart Remembering a scripture he once read Feeling a part of the whole part to part Remembering the first things at the last Those who live love survive what is dead Careful for nothing as the scripture said +Steven Curtis Lance Copyright MMX
