"Not only in the Middle East but also in the Middle West / We human beings in Manama or in Madison today"

Poem Artwork

For the Revolution

as the lotus unfolds

We human beings simply would be free to do and be our best
Not only in the Middle East but also in the Middle West
As I in California here in Orange my hometown would be
And am again now as I was before the godly trod on me

I was a mental patient and so patient still I stayed
To tote and fetch for the idle rich and to bear it patiently
To validate their invalidity and be the one who paid
To be in wonderland and ordered about by rabbits and mice
Ostensibly well meaning and yet ruthless as they were
Superior to me they thought but I was trying to be nice
Since the root of their ruthlessness was that they were afraid

But of their fear and love I choose love as my God and would prefer
To starve to death in freedom than to live in slavery
I could never feel free till now but I could always be somehow
They used me like a tool but could not make a fool of me
I know there is no limitation but what I myself allow
They fooled me once but by their God they could not fool me twice
What love gave and what fear took then I bring back home to love again

We human beings simply would be free to do and be our best
As in the name of love we fight for freedom as the way we pray
Not only in the Middle East but also in the Middle West
We human beings in Manama or in Madison today

Very well put, Steve. I agree with Gene, too.
God bless,

If FDR was right, Steven, and we have nothing to fear but fear itself,
then the quest and preservation of freedom must (or damn well should) exist in the minds of each of us, regardless of nationality or neighborhood. -gene.
