My stomach got wrinkled when trickle-down tinkled on me
Got flat at that but got there the hard way through poverty
And got to be not there when nobody cared thick to thin
Becoming concave when trying to save my sanity
Losing it then again it appealed to my vanity
To make do by grace taking up less space losing to win
Getting to know bones through skin letting outside sidle in
Because where I had been there was no there there anymore
An effect of the economy on me I could see
Or not see as the case may be for part of me was gone
But what was left kept right on going and improving on
The loss of gain by proving less is more and moving on
Sculpted through subtraction when the forces of reaction
Trickled-down and tinkled on me to their satisfaction
Stressful though successful then a body I could die for
My diet (do not try it) of the crazy and the poor
