Prologue



I leave my window open so the night can come in
And when I go to sleep then the festivities begin
So it seems though in my dreams in my reality
Enough for me as real as it can be and real to me



I. Hat Down Low



I like to wear my hat down low
When I go out in the sun like so
When out and in my hat goes on
And on then until the sun has gone

Except now and again to let
My face keep pace in case I forget
If only for a little while
I have enough wrinkles in my smile

Having a twinkle though of style
Hat down low like so now here I go



II. Unanswered Question Answered



Still to be or not to be
Unanswered question asking now
Being saying may as well
Continue and then what the hell

So the question answers me
Unanswered question answered by
Be when not to is to die
The answer then the question how



III. Five Foot Everything



Franziska makes me look tall
At five foot ten
Being five foot none at all
But then again

Being five foot everything
That makes me sing
As only she can do
She makes me feel tall too

I am better off with you



Epilogue



And then in the morning when I wake up I recall
What came in through my window openminded after all
And it turns out that my reality is poetry
That in its in-betweens is what it means to be me
