Roosters crow whenever they feel The time for a rooster to crow is real In real time they crow as they go First in the morning but without warning Then whenever they feel they do In real time what they feel is timely to So they have limited appeal Especially first thing in the morning Out here I hear one loud and clear And so I know a new rooster is near Nor does he mind sounding silly Cock-a-doodle-doing willy-nilly What he doodle-does but really Passion seems to be in fashion this spring No more silly than anything When he cock-a-doodle-does his doodling I can feel the spring thing too and When I feel the real then I understand Sometimes we feel so real we crow Sometimes I cock-a-doodle-do it too Steven Curtis Lance
