Threescore and Then One More

Having already lived threescore
Years I am ready given one more
To bet it gets better as I
Live it up before having to die
Having lived it down I get it
Now whatever was then forget it

Because what is to be is not
Yet and what was is what I forgot
What is now that I am living
Not what then but I am forgiving
Given the chance forgiven and
Forgiving living to understand

Understanding expanding my
Mind to find more than I lost before
Seeing us being as we are
In this together if from afar
Finding myself in humankind
Arranging itself changing its mind

Freeing ourselves to figure out
Who we are and what to do about
Us as we find ourselves somehow
No matter what time the clock may say
Whenever we are always now
Tomorrow never comes anyway

But here I am threescore and then
One more to bet now I get it how
It gets better for having been
Earning my way learning the hard way
Yesterday turning me away
Became tomorrow that came today

Say Something Terrorible v3 by RickthePoetWarrior

My mom says ‘If you can’t say anything nice then don’t say anything’. Sorry mom but under the guise of poetic license I penned these beauties.
