Doing What I Know The psychiatrist said to me That I was crazy and The poetry was part of it Trying to understand By art was at the heart of it Whatever is to be Of me is in the poetry Where it has always been What I write down in Lancean Is my reality But now my diagnosis then Of poetry still makes Me know how I got what it takes That does not go away So I will go on anyway To do the best I can For the rest of it crazily But poetically Going on knowing how I go On doing what I know And that it means something To you to me means everything Steven Curtis Lance
