What it Takes I have what it takes to be crazy But it makes me sad to have had To be sad biochemically No reason required to feel bad For a season without reason then Other than what is otherwise Out of my control and beyond me To go beyond I realize At sad times that I have had to be Having to be otherwise to Do what I had to ultimately What sadder but wiser to do With a greater sense of gravity Having been down but not out when Otherwise hope has opened my eyes Then sooner or later to see How to let go and how to get through When the only way out is in Tending to end up in poetry Transcending myself by surprise Letting go getting through it I know I fall but after all I rise Knowing I have what it takes to go On going to do it again Steven Curtis Lance

It seems to take a lot of repetition to solve this problem that never seems to get solved.

I'm glad you've chosen to write poetry as it is a form of self-therapy. Sometimes it is more effective than to paying big bucks to someone just to tell him about your life, and then to have him telling it back to you what you already know.
