Somehow or other your brother
My old dog I watch you sleep
While praying please God may I keep
Him? Saying this about you

If you are old now I am too

You and I have come this far
Becoming brothers after all
Falling like the stars we are
Each of us catching the other

What kills us is not the fall

But separation star from star
Lonely when just one transcends
What does one do when one was two
Living but dying to know?

One not knowing what to do

Only one until another
When our separation ends
Living I know we must die though
Loving still we hate to go

The other side another day
