The contestants await their fate on live TV
An airing of grievances is underway
But signed up and lined up to never disagree
They stand by their man whatever he may say
Not a fan I get sick of their sycophancy
Nor fancy this cult of personality
Because of that personality they fancy
Like being in a bad relationship or
Seeing sadly some forget what happened before
When the preening overweening got away
With getting away with it a lot like today
Perchance making persons behave cultishly
Resulting from mistaken insult comedy
Not funny no thanks just let me be Lancey
Living on Wall Street is not worth dying for
The needling of that needy greedy daily whine
Wheedling heedlessly how everything is fine
As mad out there outside my head as in or more
It takes one to know one and I think I do
I know I am mad and this TV guy is too
If you have seen his show you know what I mean
Time to cultivate my own personality
Consulting with myself to find the meaning
Of life between the lockdown and the quarantine
Beyond the preening of the overweening
Getting away with it and getting in the way
Of letting in the light as the night descends
Betting with their friends on forgetting how this ends
From the outside in I can see through what I see
As I turn away and turn off the TV
(But better not bet against a person like me)
A telling poem about how politicians, and particularly this one, gain votes through the trickery of TV and the fine use of the lie. Flattering people is much better than telling them the truth.
I agree with you that is TV show sickened me with the way he treated people and played favorites. I'm sure that the producers encouraged such behavior to get more viewers, but in the case of representing our country on TV every day now, anyone watching can see his well-crafted persona is coming apart like the madman he really is.

I agree with you that is TV show sickened me with the way he treated people and played favorites.
