My Chance to Be Lancean



Through the plastic to the drastic
I never got bitter about it
Maybe a little sarcastic

I got better and it turns out it
May be fun maybe fantastic
To be me now or never as I
Try to get good at poetry

Wondering under the desert sky
What took me so long to be me

Had I been told about this old guy
I am when I went mad I would
Have not given up so easily

Living up to me now I know
How good it is to be understood
And so I go on with the show
Now that I know how then I know why

This is it and so off I go
On with my chance to be Lancean

Better late than never now and
Better than ever I know I can
Though other than and otherwise

Not bitter about it no doubt it
May surprise and open some eyes
Get better because you understand
Like you do and I am so glad

Not so bad now I realize
Better not bitter mad but not mad
