In 1975 I
Stopped wearing underwear
Making me feel so alive I
Could feel the air down there

Taking the opportunity
Afforded by my youth
Finding out about being me
Reminded of the truth

Seeing my curiosity
Rewarded I would find
Maybe I could do something new
Become someone someday

Subsequently I stopped shaving
Quite orthodox that way

Shaking up a world worth saving
Trying to anyway
I went to find my destiny

When the only way out
Was in I went and went about
Leaving something behind
Believing in what I could say

And knowing what I meant
My life would be a sacrament
Ongoing breaking through

Destiny thought it best to be
Hidden from humankind
Beyond a reasonable doubt
Late in the season now

Fate seems reasonable somehow
No reason to complain

Getting by only God knows how
Only love can explain
How it does it and yet it does
Letting it be I see

This is it and it always was
Through pleasure and through pain
What I treasure is love because
Of how it makes me feel

Waking up and making it real
By doing what I do
Better today than yesterday
Love is what makes me free
