Timing Troubles

There is but one main trouble

In relationship love—

This is the trouble with timing.

And the main timing trouble

That often bursts the love bubble

Is the push-pull battle,

Or approach-retreat fadattle.

One person wants this

While the other wants that.

Both want to control love,

With their own private needs

And personal expectations,

For this or that outcome,

On their own time schedule,

Which is never quite in sync.

So what is the answer?

The person who can slow down

Must do that without a frown;

The person who can speed up,

Must do that with a stirrup;

If they can do this together

Then that is kind of fine;

But if not, one has to give,

Or both have to give up,

Or get a new watch.
