Written as a result of a deteriorating relationship

Poem Artwork

 I've packed away my hurt
To me it's dead and gone
The feelings that I once had
I've buried, I'll go alone.

I've cried myself to sleep each night
As you sit there at my feet
Oblivious to the hurt you've caused
Because I am so "sweet".

You said you loved me for a lot of reasons
But we have grown apart
It has been seven years of seasons
That has scarred this broken heart.

You told me all these things you love
When you thought she was dead and gone
But then you found that from above
She lived and she was home.

Your words mean nothing to me now
Your eyes are lifeless too,
Until the cell phone rings away
And emails flood the computer too.

Our time is finished…I know that now
By her side you need to go,
Your "soulmate" you have finally found
And I must surely go.

No more sad tears will I shed
It isn't worth the effort,
There must be someone out there
To rescue this weary soul…

Goodness, such heartfelt emotion, yet with resolve for a new life, a better life yet to be...

Be always safe,

Soul mates never make the best lovers, only friends at best.
The angst and pain one feels from the core after being in the same place.
Why is it that the beautiful hearts get trampled in the dust.
Yet we always think some kind of justice will prevail.

The final stanza is so real, I and many others know that dead feeling.

Why do we try to put our lives through it again.
I guess we all hope for miss right, never, miss right now.
