In a world that is so full of people who try to hurt each other

Instead of getting along like your sister or your brother

Everyone is always fighting for the little things they need

While the credit card companies are raising rates due to greed

The health care agencies stamp their verdict for you

On these short little forms that can take away your care so true

We need to make sure that the money we are going to give

Provides the care our elders need in order to be sure they live

When someone needs a level of care and they are told no

So many of them do not understand that they need to fight and show

That they will stand up and speak their minds and try to get what they need

It is not to be selfish, it is for their health and welfare indeed.

I have learned to fight real hard to keep my mom at home you see

No matter what the health agency has tried they do not want to deal with me.

My mom has last stage ALZ and it is heartbreaking and sad

I will not allow her to not get the care no matter who get mad

For all of you who will not put your parent in a nursing home

Do all you can and fight for their rights and let your voice be known.
