Even good bears can have a bad day.

Poem Artwork

I have an Aardvark on my head

I think his name is Fred

I don’t know why he climbed up there

But I wish he’d leave it’s just not fair

I have some bird poo on my shoulder

When I catch him he will not grow older

I don’t know why that he chose me

To cause this bit of misery

I stubbed some of my toes

But that’s’ better than my nose

Cause the very next day off they fell

At least I still have my sense of smell

I really am a happy bear

I’m polite but sometimes stare

At the funny things that people do

I could really use a friend like you

Hilarious. Nice poetic license with the armadillo posing as an aardvark. Get that children's series going!

(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Tx., Karen Lynn. :D

This has a Dr. Suessian quality to it! :)

Yes, another great idea for a childrens book. Very engaging, Patrick. I'd expand this poem to include the reader. That last line is a wonderful lead-in. What could a "friend like you" do to make bear feel better? Would be an excellent tool to teach kindergarten-age kids empathy!
