This photo taken at Butler wash Utah depicts what appears to be a shield with the sun in its center. The bright spots around them are not planets. Sadly they are bullet marks from “target” shooters. It sickens me.

Poem Artwork

Modern man

Superior intellect

Shooting at the sunrise

With arrogance

Contempt

Small wonder misery abounds

Ancient miracle attracting

Our worst behavior

Sad eyes see through your defiant act

The arrow points down

For good reason

WHAT A SHAME...WHEN COMMON SENSE ALONG WITH A LACK OF RESPECT, TAKES A DIVE, IT IS JUST TOO SAD. YOU SAID IT AS IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN SAID. LOVE AND BLESSINGS AND THANKS FOR SHARING. JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS

A poignant, succinct diatribe, each line hits like a punch in the face. Excellent.

Ouch.

All too well done, my friend. All too well done.

Especially like "Shooting at the sunrise" and 'at blame down-pointing
arrow.

(Occurs to me how close "arrow" and "error" are.)

Good ONya for bein' a straight shooter!

Admiringly,

'Pea'

Its sad to see something so sacred damaged this way. Back when times were a bit better for me I had done a lot of hiking in the Utah and Arizona canyons and washes. I loved it. I found such peace there and often felt like I was connecting to my native roots, especially when I saw Petroglyphs.
My favorite place was in the mountains above the Valley of the Gods, in Utah until this sacred place was also found by someone who called National Geographic...and the rest of the world started pouring into it after an article was written about it.
I was selfish enough to want to keep it all for myself. I've not been back there since and would feel sick if any of it has been damaged by the crowds of people. Well I'd better sign off before this becomes a book... ;-) I loved the care in this posting.

I am appalled that our race is being so stupid. I've also noticed that what makes the news on television. Good poem Patrick.

When the day turns sandstone tables and puts the defiant act in the crosshairs...arrogance waits at the gates of hell...password secure they're in Satan's company and the wrath swelters. 666 Mark of the Beast!

Damn sons of bitches! Our collective superior intellect lacks a collective wisdom.

Through the Amazon by S. Oliver Eldridge
