My Mother...my Mommy. Pressing-on.

Poem Artwork

God brought us together...

this is true

Our relationship 'unusual'

with closeness...adieu

***

But today I realize...

you were just being you

And I...was just being me

and came short...too

***

So, whatever our ups and downs

you were the only mother I ever knew

Thus, despite the schisms and frowns

I know you loved me...same as I loved you

***

I think of you today

and I thank you sincerely

Though you're now gone away

you were and still are...my mommy

Phil 3:13-14

Joyce,
How sweet a poem this is. I am very blessed to have my children call me mommy all the time. I have alot of love and respect for my mom even though she did at times verbally and physically abused me. I am thankful though, she provided me with a roof and food to eat. Thanks for sharing this sweet poem.

The strong bond between our mothers and us can conquer any differences between mothers and daughters. Blood is always thicker than water as we feel the bond with our mothers. Your poem is a gem.
