Short, Black, brownskin lady…
on the heavy side
no…not very affectionate
but within…strength…did abide
Indeed, something missing from ‘us’
but God, He knew what I needed
so here, with yesterday gone, I find
the wisdom of her words…if heeded
Surely, without the abnormalities
I would not survive in this world today
every experience…taught me well
toughened me…to handle present fray
I know she loved me all she could
what with so many ‘things’ occurring
endeavoring her utmost to persevere…
with me in tow, while… life…securing
God’s Will…this is all I know and accept
just daddy, she and I…no sister, no brother
I’m thinking our best days…be on yonder shore
when in Glow of His Love, I’ll again see…My Mother

Happy Mother’s Day…!
( we had ours in UK some weeks ago)
Love,
Diana…🍃
I was so fortunate to have a twin brother as a companion until we were both 21. And hard-working, open and loving parents who let us go on our own at 18 with all we needed for a successful life ahead. My mother taught me to be frugal and generous with others, to communicate often with others even though they didn't return the communication, and to love travel and adventure--explore. My parents had 62 years together. Mom died in February 2020 at 95, free from the pandemic and from all the ailments that made her last years so miserable.

Happy Mother's Day to you and your dear mother!!!
