Amidst..

There is
amidst
the usualness of my life,
my best friend. A richness
so dear, it's loss would,
in the depths of me,
hurt worse than a
rarely seen family member
dying. How dear, how close
she is, even now on the phone,
talking to her other best friend,
my husband.
We can relate, through unrelativity,
and beyond! Through arguments and
hang-ups, through tears
and pet deaths,
we are forever linked
by mutual admiration,
by our long pasts,
our Triple Yahtzee playing
and bar hopping,
and by our
respect
and love.
My best friend.
My Kathy.

This was my first attempt at uploading a picture, my loving watercolor done from a photo of her taking a picture of herself, looking all goofy! She hates the picture and wasn't too happy with me, but this epitomizes her to me!
--- And now she is gone, having battled colon cancer for almost 2 years. Gone from me, her family, the world as we know it, ad I know it, a grayer, dimmer world...
God Bless

Really nice tribute to a special friend
Beautiful job on the pic. and Superb tribute to your friend! I have found that my friends can "see" me much clearer then my family! They are a gift and should be celebrated!
Hugs,
Maria
they are lucky to have you
