When I am but a shadow in my weakness,
a day filled with clouds and with rain,
it is you who are my strength and show me how to live again.

When I am but a sinew in a tree swaying in the wind,
I open the door to my heart and I ask...
follow the bright light that guides your heart in?

When I am a bale of cotton, lying naked and alone in a field,
you are there to show me the reality of my longings...
You show me, you teach me...I feel.

When I have become so tired, and feel each step is anchored sound,
it is then I see you notice, and you stop - and then,
you walk again toward me, your soul has turned around.

How many times have you stopped to wait for me along the way,
coming back with your longing to see how I fare -
and how much of your time did you give me this day?

When I am feeling lost and my spirit despairs, where is my path?
It is you who points the way to light
and with your gentle whisper, you guide me back.

When I am lacking and my Faith seems lost, Lord,
you shine your brightness throughout my world;
I am found, once again...'pon your shore.
