Poem Artwork

Listen feel it perk the ears
Wafting over years and years
Constant beat of Latin salsa
Early rhythms...Cuban waltzes
Congas beat... forever bounce
Hips rotating...ruffled flounce
Rainbow colors...dig the beat
Skins all dark from Latin heat
Passions move swing and sway
Sombas touch as fingers play
Airwaved music floating free
Through the years for me and thee
Clutching time in even beat
Kicking heels up in the street
Laughter looming over flowers
Knitted hairpiece tongues devour
Hydrangas tucked in bosoms fire
Deeper form... the loins desire
Appendages flail through the air
Rounded beating dierrieres
Trots of feet as ankles hop
Jumping to this Latin bop
Grinding bodies touching grasping
Music flowing kisses flashing
Passions faster with each turn
Burning searching churn to churn
History making music classics
Listening dancing...mirrored magic.

Ole! You take us there in memorable lines, Susan, even those of us with two left feet can dance like an expert reading the P A S S I O N in your poetry! Well done!

Man can the Cuban girls dance, and they always have lovely smiles, They tried to teach me, but could not find any dancing shoes with two left feet.
Brings back memories of dancing on Cuban beaches at night, well a few memories, cos the booze was free...
Love this..

Like a fandango with picante sauce. Passionate shadows and emotions. As long as no one slips, viva the dance ... and the sweet epilogue!
Belle, you rock the Casbah!

Wow Susan, you have a great beat, rythm and rhyme going in this syncopated piece. I can hear the music and see them dancing. I think you might be able to put this to music. Interesting write!

These words immediately took me to the scene so that it was I who was dancing to a sultry hot rhythm. Your poem is at once universal and personal.
