The ballroom is empty yet life abounds
The energy quickens... with nary a sound
The candle flame flickers...not even a breeze
Then out from the shadows a gentleman's sleeve
With one digit he gestures...barely a twitch
My knees are weakened as my palms start to itch
Barely a whiff of exotic spices
Lifted my nostrils as heaven enticed me
With hovered ambition I drifted across
He lifted my spirits and my heart was lost
Magnificent dancer
Spirited Muse
Lover of mystery
Passions turned loose
Holding me closer
Exchanging a breath
Opening a heart to see what was left
Resillient as magic with scars all tucked
He climbed on in and zipped himself shut
He's there where I find him when I'm alone
I hum in a whisper ...he's coming home
When the ballroom is empty and nothing much matters
He floats out of nowhere and drifts from the shadows
This man of mystery... whoever he is
I know he's mine and he knows that I'm his.
