FOOTSTEPS IN THE SAND

I sink with each step
closer to the blue.
The waves tease and spray
and prompt me to play.

But my world is dark and bleak,
and I cannot fall asleep.
I gaze through my window
to the snow-laden bough.

I sigh and shut my eyes tight,
seeking paradise this night.
I get sleepy and go back in time
to the sand and the footsteps of mine.

Nicely done. For some reason, as I read this, I kept thinking about the footprints man left on the moon, and Jimmy Buffett's Beach house on the moon.

Wonderful and nostalgic at the same time. The real need for the beach in midwinter.

The photo reminded me of my brief stop at the Palm Beach Beach. I was pushed on a big wheel wheelchair out onto the sand and left with my face to the sun and wind. After about five minutes, I was calling out to anyone who would turn me around so that the wind and sun would not tear away at my already itchy skin anymore.

Mariard Volume 1 The gifting by Christine Jones

Born of their seeds, kingdom will rise against kingdom, one will hold great mysteries, one will turn the tide and one will not be bound. War is fought, not only on the field but also within the mind. Nothing is what it seems take nothing for granted.
