What Dreams Are Made Of
By La Belle Rouge

Sometimes I navigate through deep water
between the coral banked abyss
where great and small ships lie scattered
and bones of lost mariners rest
while schools of fish swim through
rib cages like ivory playgrounds

I count gold doubloons and silver pieces
My graceful neck is bejeweled
by chains of gold with diamonds pendants

My long hair, adorned with dancing seaweed,
flows out behind me as I glide through
the aqua black caverns of the sea

There is no blackness my mer-eyes
cannot penetrate nor dangers of the deep
my honed intuition cannot fathom

Daring Daughter of Poseidon
Princess of the Water World
where dolphins are my playmates

Unknown, unseen to mortal eyes
except for those rare times
I rise above the turbulent waves

Blow kisses to astonished sailors
then with a mighty crash of my tail
disappear into the deep
I am the substance of legend
beauty of fantasy….elusive mermaid,
I am what dreams are made of

DARLIN LA BELLE!!! Two whole years, isn't it?? Seems like forever and yet no time at all - but hey... time and tide, no? As perennial as the oceans is this netted beauty and your salt flavour and Cutty Sark romantic edge remain forever true. Like a Pole Star in our poetic skies and as welcome as the Trade Winds that carry us along, WELCOME BACK! And yes, we are on the same page tonight, it would seem, and this poem finds me dancing with dolphins and counting my riches in seashells. Blowin kisses right back at'ya. Katamaran Kate xx
