it’s getting late (in life) in the day.
when a golden ball of fire, a powerhouse
drops out of sight, its glow set against a violet sky.

inside me, thunder rolls
claps so loud, there are no other sounds;
and my heart…well it wants to retch
rid itself of deep sorrow…a loss profound.

begone that time never forgotten,
but always coursing
through my veins.

for this is no ordinary infection
residing deep inside.
just love, a most terrible disease -
incurable, and without hope.

let time pass by more quickly please
as I spend another night without you.
let memories find another home
for I...am broken down.

I love these lines....never thought of love as a disease; always considered it to be a gift. But I guess you are right.

Don't pray for time going by even faster. Once you have reached a certain age, it flies anyways. Rather treasure what you have and enjoy every minute. Not easy without him, but possible.
Wonderful photo!

We spend all our energies trying to figure out what went wrong, by the time we get it all straight, we've not enough left to enjoy the rewards.
Relax and enjoy Sara....

You should embrace the love you have and go jump in the hot tub. How about a round of golf, take the cart in the woods.

Sara, this is a very excellent well-written heartfelt write. Although the clock does continue to tick, yet, since life and love are so deeply intertwined; the emotional roller coaster we all go through has a unique way of making us much stronger individuals, enabling us to be better prepared to handle all of life’s sudden twists and turns. Remember Poet, hope is always just around the corner my friend. Outstanding work.

Quite lovely, Sara. Noting you've tied love to disease, lovesicknesses we all know too well ;-), I invite you to visit this link and read "Germ" .
