Puckered up and poised
prepared to plant a kiss
you reach across the table
grab my hand with a whisper
and share my story of love.

We are two people.
Lonely travelers
sitting far from home.
Not knowing of tomorrow,
but trapped in yesterdays.

Each waiting and staring
holding each other
with a look of love.

Tenderly caressing
one hand into the other
both hearts open
to loves sweet touch.

With palm to fingers
lips to tips
hearts to soul
over and over
our eyes touched.

Talking nonsense
chitter chattering
back and forth
time filled up.

The story ended
as it began
with a gentle touch
and sudden love
poised to erupt.
