Mental illness ... sometimes it seems to run in families.
******************
Grown far beyond yet--still connected to my legacy--
there's part of her clinging I can't abolish completely.
Genes, with no soul or brains, merely reproduce … lack mercy.
Petals never fall far from the flower though their nectar
thrives with the power of eternity … infinity.
Do I want more of her to be?
My seed has been sown, harvested, but some was called back home.
Her legacy of lies, hate, I seek to destroy, disown.
The legacy isn't just hers, truthfully, but my own.
She has poisoned the mind and body of my own daughter.
Somehow I escaped the madness of rigid hearts … of stone.
Can't erase memories, be free!
Dark clouds abound within me; trouble my soul to its core.
Inner hostilities swell, dwell, and exist evermore.
The vine of her mind reached out, clasped me. Its' touch left me sore.
Sometimes her whisperings provoke me with jokes and laughter.
Not wishing the door of chaos open … God I implore.
Humble, I seek help on bent knees.
Let seeds from the face of the past be barren … thrive no more …
this folly of madness causes bodies and minds to war.
Let future generations be healed of her … evermore.
Some people are born with warped minds, a walking disaster.
I don't mind beatings of the body but of mind … no more!
I am sheltered; He walks with me.
Aged and weary, years worn well, He lifted my misery.
The face of the past, I know it well, is no mystery.
Everyone, part and parcel, is part of my history.
He took madness, hatred, horror--led them to slaughter--
My devotion's unique, complete, as it's Him I adore
for His love and grace set me free.

This is something that I take issue with our government in all phases. Not enough attention is paid to this disease it wounds just like an injury. The mind is a hard thing to heal.
Quite a disturbing and unerving work Sandy...
