Our boy just returned from blind camp where there were twin black (albino) boys, age 7. Surely they had it rough enough without being blind too!

Skin—no pigmentation,
sensitive eyes rose pink.
Hair—white—without color,
the albino blinked, winked.
Sun, an aggravation—
bounced rays blind, deeply sink--
red blood in blue veins surge,
pulsates, throbs, makes one think.
Tissue, skin, translucent,
are they ‘a missing link?’
Sometimes they tip on toes
afraid that they might sink.
Cold cruises their marrow,
red cells are albino’s mink.
Perfumes are much too rich—
they’ve few pores—tend to stink.
Curious adventures—
their flesh stains and bruises,
they are not outdoor folks,
their face turns red, flushes.
Skin—pale—is a torment
as their eyes are quite weak.
Brittle hair they can’t curl …
normalcy they seek.
Hold words, make no comment,
when you see those eyes … pink.
There, but for the Grace of God, go I...that's the first thing that came to mind. I cannot begin to imagine, but you put me right there and made me see what they go through. An honest, strongly penned write; well done!
i have an adult friend who is an albino, but her eyes are a pale, pale blue, while her skin is a pale, pale pink, and she has very pale hair, almost to the point of being white. and you are so right: they do endure much heartache! very well done, sandie; thanks for sharing!

Yes, many of us don't realize just how lucky we are! We are not thankful at all!! While others are paying surgeons to get the perfect flawless body with others no amount of knives or will ever make a difference. God bless those little angels!
I feel sorry for them. Whenever I hear something so unfortunate that happens to others, I feel that whatever problems that I'm having are so small in comparison.
