Looking into the mirror of time....

Poem Artwork

She lays there dreaming of the days of yore
when his love seemed set for evermore
entrenched in each other arms were they

Till came the day when he did stray

All that's left is her broken heart
life twisted and torn apart
days spent all forlorn

So she sleeps now from dusk till dawn

How is it that love does die
How is it that time fly's by
Soon she'll be an aged hag

Not even worth the price of a nag

How cruel life can be
As it goes from love to enmity
two souls who once were one

Are left disheveled and all undone

Take off that dress Mrs Haversham!

mrs haversham needs to reclaim herself ... a new dress and a romp out on the town will revive her sense of beauty ... a well written portrayal of lost love can dishearten ...

Love like that couldn't have been genuine in the first place. It's best to just let go...and move on...better things are in store. He has moved on and is happy, isn't he? Ch'erie, your poem should encourage those who still suffer a broken heart to let go of the past. Well done!

God Bless
Love, Lena
