Once upon a Mountainside

by Ch'erie


 

Once upon a mountainside
lived a mountain daisy
her name was Adelweiss
didnt take to any advice
plucked herself up from her roots
for folks that ne'er give two hoots
headed for bigger greater things
got caught in leviathan's strings

 

Alas to make it home
to end her senseless roam
is but the impossible feat
through the slow grinding heat
She's wilted to a weed
and in the greatest need
petals have all but gone
alas she's weeping lone
 

Once upon a Mountainside
lived a mountain daisy
who went a little hazy
some folks think she's crazy!
What do they really know
promises unkept
total no show
Rendered nothing but a lethal blow!

I found this write touching and sad as it describe this lovely flower seeking what the world out beyond her doorstep has to offer only to find out it is a cruel and lonely place...
