If life were unwritten
Where would we be?
If poetry didn't exist
Through our eyes, what would we see?
It is life unwritten
That sparks our interest
To visit the unknown
Puts our hearts to the test
We speak of history
Revisiting the past
We fear the future
Will fly by too fast
An unwritten chapter
Is what we all share
Life is out captor
We only handle what we can bear
We are always measured
By what we are worth
Time should be treasured
As spent upon this earth
If life were unwritten
Would we be alive?
Papers and books would be empty
We would not be able to survive
If words were unwritten
If poetry didn't exist
The world would be less smitten
We as poets, would be surely missed
For it is far ahead, if I can be sure of it,
And far it is, that my hallucination be valid,
And hallucination it is, as it should be,
And however, unlike itself, mysterious, unknown, and untested,
So it be foreseen in my tireless search.
