~Dreamer's Feast~

To preference, the reverence
Of dreams to each soul
A task of conceit
Best left....untold

Dreams have a taste
A flavor unique
Some prefer salty
Others.......the sweet

Dreams may be seasoned
By spices untried
Sauteed...or simmered
Neglected....or fried!

Brought to the plate
On a table....well set
Where dreamers may feast......

Then wake.......and forget!!!

some people record their dreams in a dream journal or in this case a recipe book ... some are content with enjoying the dream meal and are fulfilled with feasting on its spices ... eith way, dreams always leave an emotional aftermath of perspective ...

You're good at using rhyme without it sounding contrived or trite. Enjoyed this. JM

A marvelous feast you've prepared here, Queenie.

But where are the cookies on that table?!

I have always struggled with the dreams that I remember vividly. They seem a portend, at times, or a harbinger of something that is to be.

Sometimes they seem to clarify something that has already happened to prepare me for the consequences of bad choices.

Irrespective, you address one of life's great mysteries here with a splash of panache.

Beautifully penned ...

Your writing is unique. And it always end up with some truism, for we do tend to forget our dreams. Beautiful poem. Victor

Upon dreaming and the vast iota of a mili-second when we recall the dream...we start fading from it. I'd swear we live along side of another place where we visit. I've been traveling in my dreans of late. I've met the Brits and then others in South America where I fell in love. I'm always attemping to relive those but only faintly. I always read everything I can about dreams so thank you for giving me a part of this dream through your pen.

The other morning I awoke finishing a sentence in some language I do not know. All I recalled was that I was talking with a woman, I don't recall who she was, and needing to finish what I was telling her because it was very important and my waking came at a most inopportune time. Caught in the space betwen dreaming and awake, I was startled by the words coming from my lips. This is fantastic and your images are delicious, Anita.
Take care,
Sherry

Where dreamers may feast on what? If only we had control of the menu when we sleep. And wouldnt it be nice that if someone we knew who was in the dream, could tell us how it ended, because we awoke before we saw that end?

Oooooooooo yes!! Can soooo relate... if only we could dream to order... now THAT would be sumthin... Trouble is, I am someone who always forgets what it is I've ordered anyway, and usually end up with someone else's choice... Piquant and appetising verses here... thinks I had best leave off the cheese! A beautiful Anita motif and concept, uniquely served as per u. Bless you. TY K xx
