The lion flew on hungered feet And roared within my dream I ran until, I had no breath Nor voice, with which to scream Falling down a dusty gulch Tumbled feet to head Round I saw the sky and earth Moments from the shred Accepting doom, I closed my eyes Braced for fatal tear The seconds passed, and soon I felt A wet nose and coarse hair Breath of stink assaulted me I tried to roll away The lion pounced upon my bed As silently I prayed I felt the pressure on my head A wet tongue on my face I screamed within my agony As two were on the chase They trampled me, from head to toe My skin was scraped and raw When roughly, rudely wakened As my mouth tasted paw My dogs were running round & round As dream and present teamed I kicked the pair right off of me So much for pleasant dreams!!!
you do have versaltility I'll give you that From the depth of some of the others I read to the light fun and frolic of this write

too funny! Don't ya just hate when that happens...waking up with your heart in your throat!
Dreams can be so realistic, especially with props such as these! LOL!

Great poem, you had me thinking of lions only to end up with two "dwarf" ones. Victor
Funny how our dreams often merge with real life as we awaken. Some dreams we wish were real life, eh? As I get older, the country waxes worse. I find that life can be much better with eyes closed, and translated into another more pleasant realm.
