Oh, how this brought back childhood memories of rolling a snowball down a hill and watching it increase steadily in size as it gathered more snow on the way down. Then we'd stick a smaller ball on top to make a snowman.
The poem also triggered a song in my head called The Great Snowman. No one can remember it - be grateful if someone could. I don't recall the lyrics since I was very young when I heard it, but they spoke of a big man for sure. The only lyric I can remember is 'And the great snowman, was...' sorry that's it! Pathetic uh - but why does this poem trigger it?

Lands dazed on his arse at the bottom - realises he has been made into a man. A strong image. Potential here for further adventures.
Oooh I love this write...I could just envision the man of snow being built..beautiful. I would love to read this one to my students, we begin studying weather this week, six year old's alway enjoy poetry to introduce a topic...this would be a great one for the season of winter...enjoyed this much!
