Poem Artwork

Tongue in cheek, Erma Bombec inspired......

Housefrau Zombie

Pass the pepper, pass the salt

Too much garlic, not my fault

Burned outside, inside rare

On the phone, and didn't care

Clothes left in the washer long

Mildew order wafting strong

Where was I at cycled end

Can't remember, won't pretend

Fur balls roll like tumble weeds

I walk by like I don't see

One shaped like some creature strange

Hedgehog, gopher, constant change

Click, click, click the channels pass

Sit and stare like some old ass

Bad new, reruns, TMZ

Brain cells dying, there goes me

Sit down, try to read a book

Lost my glasses, hard to look

Words run over page like ants

Too much squinting, rather dance

Not to rap, or not to metal

Strauss too fast, I wheeze like kettle

My feet move to disco beat

Give me Motown, happy feet

Now to focus on the home

Seems I'm warmed up, done with phone

Start some dinner, vacuum stairs

Housefrau zombie, live the prayer

Pax

Reads like a plan. I especially like the mildew order and dust bunny fur balls. Some great humor for the situation you find yourself in. Hope you get out of the house once in a while so you won't get zombied in.

... even the word "housework" brings out the glazed zombie in me, Anita! My poor house could sure use a good wife: hope his prayers are answered! :)) Love it when you post... Hope you're in the (fluffy!) pink! xx
