Poem Artwork

The fog on the channel is soup-like;
The tall sedges and canes
Along the banks, facing off,
Show each other their highest.
The nighttime has passed like a flight,
And for an orphan’s sorrow
The early birds start to mourn.
Most heartless of all are the weeping willows—
Beneath the city wall their arrays line stiffly.
Even at dawn, into these small hours,
In a three-mile green and yellow passage,
They rank indifferently still, being treacherously silent.

yep fog can get pretty thick and not see your hand in front of you. The poor weeping willow tree sure seems to have earned its name well in this piece. But it can be majestic and full of life though it almost touches the ground. A beauty under other circumstances.

I do not like the description about the fog being "soup-like", it just takes all the imaginary feelings away from me. I don't like the words usage in this poem, especially when it pertains to a sensitive or sentimental subject of an orphan. I only like work that is the originality of a poet's. Sometimes the true meaning of the original poem is lost through bad translation. I only wish to read a poet's original work an NOT bad translation of someone else's work.

Sorry! Your poetry bugs me! I don't know.
