Poem Artwork

We all are like the trees that

Use what comes their ways

To provide well themselves.

By dipping roots,

They reach the azure skies;

By accepting the rains,

They strengthen the ground

On which they stand up

In the winds and thunders;

By reaching out to the sun

They perfect the lives of all

Who lives around.

All their excellences reduce

To the motto which states:

'Absorb, Refine and Appropriate'

In order to grow greater

Day by day, year after year, forever.

As you rightly point out, trees are amazing, in the way they look, and as you say, in the wy they behave "absorb, refine and appropriate." Some subtle thinking here. John

I think trees are mightier than we. I do not have the patience to be rooted in one place all the time. Or the strength to withstand the wind and rain without wanting to find shelter--in fact, being shelter for many. I cannot turn carbon dioxide to oxygen the way a tree can. Trees provide me with the oxygen I need. Finally, my body does not grow in layers that tell my age. If I had a reflection of every year that I lived, it would be an autobiography and not a ring on a cross-section of my body.
