I sat at a streetside cafe on my own with a notepad and paper and observed the world around me. While I did so, I penned this short verse.

Pen poised

Thoughts stirred

Like ripples

emanating

from a fingertip

Dipped in water.

Moisture tasted,

tongue slides

lasciviously

over lips

Eyes filled

with dark mischief

Flirt with page

Now how could I not read this one? I, myself, have logged many hours in the local cafe just writing and watching life unfold. Nice to see you know how it feels.

Chanti, another marvelous musing! I am going to take inspiration from this and do the same while I am in Rome, observing and enjoying the energy of the Italian people.
Ciao bella!

Chanti, as someone with your astounding talent to able to draw a vivid picture along a sidewalk café reminds one of the importance of observation, and having a pen and paper nearby. Thank you for sharing a slice of your day. Take care my friend.

Chanti, I love it...you have in a sense captured a nice descriptive comparison of poetry flirting with thoughts...isn't it amazing how the greatest poetry written was probably done so in some of the most ordinary of places...this inspires me to let myself go more with the poetry flow...excellent poetry...Fletcher B

Well, yeah. It works that way. LOL. You used one of my favorite words, Chanti--"lasciviously"--all the amateur psychologist will have to figure that one out. ;-)
Good poem. Liked the graphic too.

Oh...oh...oh...I wish I could have been seated in the
cafe where I could SEE you...inspired like that.
These words are so luscious, I can almost taste the sugar
in them! "Dark mischief" in blue eyes...hmmmm. Yes, that
would be something to see.
I loved this snappy little poem. It is effervescent!
