If you had a friend in need with nowhere else to turn, would you offer words of comfort but stand back and watch her burn? If you didn't have the means to help, would you shrug your shoulders and say, "I wish you all the best my friend." and then promise her you'll pray? Words of comfort are all well and good but words do not settle the debt And a person in such a predicament Fears derision is all they'll get It hurts me to think that there are these fair-weather friends who are there when the road is straight but fall away at the turns and bends It's not easy to stand up and say, "I'll stand with you until the end! and we'll fight this battle back to back I'm with you through this my friend."
I wrote this for a friend who is facing a crisis right now and desperately needs a miracle. If you read this, please click on the link below and if you can, help me to help her. There are many ways in which you can help. One of them is to get the word out there and send the poem and the link to your email list. Time is running out for her and the situation is desperate. Please don't ignore this and listen to your heart. You may one day need the same kind of help. Chanti, this is a very heartfelt plea for help and a generous and kind heart is what you have. I read Sunshine's story and OMG Chanti, no one, child, woman, man (and there are men who are sexually assaulted too), should have to bear the weight of this type of crime committed against them.

Have you ever been the recipient of unconditional love? I know how much Chanti dislikes public acknowledgement, so I’ll keep this part brief. I had never experienced unconditional love until I met Chanti. For her compassionate and giving heart, I have been most blessed. I will be forever grateful for the gift of her friendship and, although I pray she never needs it, I would return the favor, without question.
I have had numerous opportunities to write about something painful in my life, but nothing I have ever written has been as difficult to write as this. I am embarrassed and humiliated, and it truly is hard for me to ask for help. I can be stubborn and proud; they are two of my biggest downfalls, but silence is no longer an option for me.
I have been a member here for two years and many of you here know me. What you will read here is not about a property foreclosure or the loss of a job – both of those events have already occurred. It is here that, as a friend, I ask you to click on the link Chanti has included here. I humbly ask your understanding and your help – in whatever capacity, no matter how small. As a fellow writer, I ask your understanding and patience and, if nothing else, I ask for your prayers. Time is of the essence.

Trask, I'm really sorry to read about your own circumstances and even sorrier to hear that you did not have a friend around when you were in such dire need. I simply cannot stand around and be a witness to my friend's demise. It is not my nature to do so. I am not doing this for what I can get and although I have no doubt my friend would do the same for me, this is not my motive. My gain is the satisfaction of knowing that I did my best. It is all I can do.
