Strangely, I didn't recognize the goldfinches pictured so I looked them up. I found that the yellow with black wings and black forehead goldfinches of my Wisconsin upbringing look nothing like the goldfinches that you have with red faces, white bodies and entirely different markings. I found that both are called goldfinches and yours must be an Eastern variety.
